How To Setup Wordpress Step by Step

To Setup a WordPress Blog isn’t anything you need to study Internet Technology for.
With the upcoming of Web 2.0 and semantic search, blogs have become a most valuable tool for Internet Marketing. The new WordPress 2.5.1 with it’s great deal of plugins is fully equipped to achieve almost any Internet marketing goal, once it is setup correctly.
Nowadays not even a great deal of html knowledge is required and WordPress 2.5+ is built so that anybody can have an own website, which complies to all needs of Web 2.0, up and running within only a few hours.

So why am I writing a step by step guide to setup a WordPress blog if it is that easy?  Because my actual job is Internet Marketing and Consulting but unfortunately I spend a great deal of time repairing Word Press blogs, what clearly is not my favored way of spending valuable time.

While the actual process of setting up your new wordpress blog will be a walk in the park; the Order of how to set up your blog is what makes the difference! Nothing should be accidentally skipped in the process. I originally wrote these step by step instructions on how to install a WordPress Blog for myself for exactly these two reasons. I’ve been following my own instructions for many blogs now and added and changed some points until it was perfect.

After I typed all my notes, I thought I might as well publish it and maybe help somebody else to setup a WordPress blog quick and easy. For myself and my co-workers it has become a most comprehensive check list, just like the one used by pilots on their preflight check.

Make an Internet Marketing Plan … and STICK to it!

Once you made the decision to market your product or services online, the first thing you want to do is making an Internet Marketing Plan. Most of those plans , once made and thought through, are being changed over the time of their physical development… and this is exactly what doom’s those plans to failure.

• Search engine optimize (SEO) your blog by following my guidelines in the above article.
• Sign up for a Google Adwords account and get 50$US on free advertising on your new web host.
• Do the same at Yahoo Search Marketing and get another 25 $US on free advertising.
• After you created your blog, create two AdWords Campaigns with two ads each and run them against each other. After a few days keep the good ones and replace the onces with less clicks.
• Bookmark your articles and pages to social bookmarking sites and social networking sites.
• Create back links to your site by socializing in big social networks like blog catalog.
• Write press releases and submit them to free press release centers like 1888 Press Release.
• Disable no follow on your blog to encourage your readers to interact with your blog.
• Request a free evaluation on your work right here on this blog.

My internet marketing blog has undergone a complete remake. I deleted lots of old stuff, which i realize you shouldn’t do, but i just couldn’t stand behind that old news from yesterday anymore, so out with it! I’ve also overlooked the older articles on this blog and what i didn’t delete right away was edited and brought up to date.

So why all that hazel? Simply because there is nothing as old as news from yesterday and, out of the ’90s, in the age of semantic search this has become even more relevant for Internet marketing. Just check it out on your own blog or website,read through the first 2 or 3 articles and see how you feel about what you read. If your blog is older than 6 month, i can tell you right away, you’ll feel embarrased, nacked and small!

Don’t worry…it’s not all that bad, does it show though, how much you have developed your writing skills, your design skills and how much moore even your goals have changed since you first started your web project.

Hey and the best part is, once you’re on it, this is a good chance to place some new text links into your old articles that will bring your visitor to newer pages. Another upsite is that Google and other search engines will follow those newly found links and eventually will rank your whole blog or website higher. So you see, remaking your blog is a great Internet marketing strategy and well worth the time every then and when.

Besides, i wanted to show off a bit with the new header image. The sites you see up there, are all my client’s websites and they did’nt even fit all itnto the picture, so i left the older once underneeth. Sorry for those who don’t see there page, but there is soon a single page for each client here on the McHow2 blog to come.  If only the day would have 28 hours! And I’m doing this blog in my off time - if there is any…

Yahoo Buzz - New Social Networking Site

Great news from the Yahoo front! A new social bookmarking site is born; Yahoo Buzz. One more way for small business Internet marketing. The problem that most small businesses share at the beginning seems to be the same all over the world. A Small Business needs Internet Marketing too!

That said; why has Internet marketing beconme so important even for a very small business today? What is the meaning of Internet Marketing?

Internet Marketing sometimes leaves a bitter taste of scam and spam behind. Sadly enough; the term “Internet Marketing” has become associated with terms like “Internet Guru” and “Make Money Online“. But is that what Internet marketing means? No Way! In fact, everybody who has a website or blog that advertises a product or a service, is an an Internet Marketer in one way or an other. Some try to get rich over night with a special super, hyper cool idea - what usually ends up with them beiing poorer after a few month than when they started - others try to get traffic to their blogs and websites due to lists and hope to sell whatever affiliate stuff is available. And than there is the third kind, the companies who actually sell a product or offer a service on their website(s). Those are the Inernet Marketers i would like to talk about here.

What’s that again? I probably invented that term… Let me start explain it on hand of two distinct projects I’m working on right now; one offers Accommodation on Koh Tao in Thailand, a small island in the southern Gulf of Siam, the second one offers scuba diving lessons in Puerto Rico, that would be in the Caribbean. They both target overall the same people. People who are searching for vacations or travel destinations. They both also target a specific group out of the people visiting their websites. East Puerto Rico Divers needs people who are interested in scuba diving and they also plan to offer accommodation on their website. OK View Resort in Koh Tao, on the opposite of the world is located in the scuba diving paradise of Thailand, and besides their accommodation, also wants to offers scuba diving lessons on their website.

Now what could be better than hooking those two sites up with links and a review about the other website and location. I gurantee; Google will love it! Both sites will gain better search engine positions and will eventually increase their business. And most important, they will never loose a customer to one another but send traffic to each others website. If you are looking for partner websites for your business, think about cooperative Internet marketing. Look for partners on the other end of the world who offer similar products or services, but also look for partners who offer your products and services in a secondary line on their sites. It may take a while longer to find the right Internet Marketing Partners, but one well selected partner with a good page rank makes up for a hundred crappy back links. The search term “ok view” brings up 504 million results, guess what is on 1 & 2 at Google….

In today’s internet you can not succeed alone anymore! The times are over where a bit of SEO and a half green webmaster could give your business the boost it needs. Search engines are much more sophisticated today and semantic search is the term of the future.
